Zadran’s Fifty & Rashid’s Three Wickets Help Afghanistan Beat UAE by 38 Runs

Zadran and Rashid Dominate as Afghanistan Crush UAE in Tri-Series T20I

SHARJAH – Afghanistan delivered a commanding all-around performance to thrash UAE by 38 runs in the third fixture of the tri-nation T20I series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. The win was anchored by a sparkling half-century from Ibrahim Zadran and a match-winning three-wicket spell from Rashid Khan.

After being sent in to bat, Afghanistan steadied their innings through an impressive partnership. Sediqullah Atal (54 off 30) and Ibrahim Zadran combined for a crucial 84-run stand, lifting their team past the 100-run mark before Atal’s lively innings came to an end. Zadran carried the momentum forward, smashing 63 off 40 deliveries including four sixes and three fours.

A late burst from Azmatullah Omarzai (20 off 12) and Karim Janat (23 off 10) propelled Afghanistan to a formidable 188/4 in their 20 overs. The explosive finishing touches offered a daunting target for UAE.

Chasing 189, UAE couldn’t keep pace. The middle-order showed glimpses of resistance but eventually wilted under pressure. Muhammad Rohid and Saghir Khan were the only UAE bowlers to break through with two wickets apiece. In the end, the hosts were bundled out for 150/8, handing Afghanistan a comfortable 38-run win.
